Ping Service (General Settings)

The ping tool - Servise settings

Start pinging at Windows startup – automatically start pinging when Ping Service starts

• Delay – a delay before starting the ping process. You may need this delay when it is necessary first to wait till all main services are started, the Internet connection is established and so on.

Directory – database file folder.

 

Ping Service (E-mail notifications)

• Send alarm notifications – allow Ping Service to send alarm notifications via email when the Alarm ON and Alarm OFF events are triggered

Send status notifications – allow Ping Service to send email notifications about the current ping status.

Subject – message subject

• Send time – the time when status email messages should be sent.

 

Ping Service (SMTP Settings)

• Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – outgoing mail server

• SMTP server port – port for connecting to server

Email address –sender’s e-mail address

SMTP server authentication is required – validating user when connecting to server

Username – user account name

• Password - user password.

 

Ping Service (LAN Notifications)

Send alarm notifications – allow Ping Service to send alarm notifications via LAN when the Alarm ON and Alarm OFF events are triggered

Send status notifications – allow Ping Service to send email notifications about the current ping status.

• Send time – the time when status network messages should be sent.

For messages to be sent, the Messenger service must be running on all computers. The Messenger service is disabled in Windows XP by default and is not supported in Windows Vista and Windows Seven.
