1. Can Ping Assist Pro ping more than one device at a time?

Yes, the program can do it. You must add all your devices to the host list to ping them. You can also specify a ping interval for each one of your devices.

 

2. How many devices can the software ping?

Ping Assist has no limitation on the number of the devices that can be pinged, but many pingable devices will require powerful hardware resources. The optimum number of hosts is 150-200. You can use the trial version to test the program with your number of hosts and thus evaluate performance.

1. Please verify that the email notification mode is not disabled in the general tab of the Main Window.


2.The Send alarm notifications option in Service properties must be selected.

To use Gmail with Ping Assist, the SMTP port must be set to 587 in Ping Assist's SMTP preference panel.

 

5. Can Ping Assist Pro send SMS alerts?

Starting from version 1.6.0, our ping software can send SMS notifications. You can receive all alarm and status messages right to your phone. Our ZazUnisender messaging service is used for that. This service allows you to quickly send email and SMS messages to particular recipients. The service offers you a lot of nice templates created by professional designers and can also automatically manage lists and subscriptions, delete invalid addresses and prevent spam. To enable SMS notifications in Ping Assist Pro, do the following:
1. Use the link http://sender.zazsoft.com/register to create your ZazUnisender account.
2. Log in, go to the “client area > user info” section and enable API access (the API access field).
3. Copy the access key from the API Key field and paste it into the corresponding field in the SMS notification settings in Ping Assist Pro.
Attention! The key is confidential and it's prohibited to distribute it, otherwise anyone can access your account and the personal data of your subscribers. If you already have a ZazUnisender account, you do not need to create a new one. Just make sure that the API access is enabled and use your API Key to send SMS notifications. To send SMS notifications, you need to have some money on your account. Use the following link to add money to your account and choose your tariff: http://sender.zazsoft.com/prices/tariff_sms. While adding money to your account, MAKE SURE that you use the same email address that you specified while creating your ZazUnisender account. It is necessary for the money to be correctly added to your account. You can also use this service to send news and other email and SMS messages to your customers and subscribers right from our website at http://sender.zazsoft.com.

 

6. How many can Ping Monitors work with one Ping Service?

Ping software has no limitation on the number of the Monitors that work with the Service. But we recommend to use no more than 10 Monitors. You can use the trial version to test the program with your number of Monitors. After you register Ping Assist, you can only use the application with up to the number of monitors for which your licence key is registered.

 

7. How long does Ping Assist Pro keep ping log, alarm log & statistics?

Ping Assist stores all logs for 30 days, older logs are automatically deleted.

 

8. The Monitor cannot connect to the Service when the Monitor starts. The Service and the Monitor are installed together on the same computer.

It is possible that there had been a failure and the Service did not work at that time. To start the Service again you can simply restart your computer or start the Service manually in the Computer Management section.

 

9. The Monitor cannot connect to the Service when the Monitor starts. The Service and the Monitor are installed on two different computers on the same local area network.

If you encounter problems connecting the Remote Ping Monitor to the Service check in the Computer Management panel that the Service is running, then check the firewall settings on both computers.

 

10. I bought and registered the ping software but it keeps asking for the registration and the ping process stops.

It is possible that you have entered your registration code incorrectly. We recommend using Copy/Paste commands to enter the registration code. Please also check that you do not enter any extra spaces. If the registration is successful you will see the corresponding message on the “About program…” window.
